This fire poker is designed based on ten years of experience, creating a beautiful, balanced and extremely useful and long lasting fire poker for use around outdoor fire pits or fireplaces. These poker come in three lengths to work with all manner of fires.
We use traditional blacksmithing techniques, heating the steel to a blazing heat to hammer weld the generous handle to a strong and slender shaft. The poker tapers gently to the point, creating excellent balance and heft. Visual details such as the leather lace handle and reverse twist in the bar draw the eye towards its beautiful simplicity.
This rustic, hand forged fire poker can be personalized with initials or a short name near the handle. Options for lettering and characters are shown in one of the pictures. Every time it’s used for tending a fire there will be a reminder of its uniqueness and special meaning.
Every inch of the fire poker is hammered, lending it a handmade yet polished style. A quick wire brush smooths the surface and is finally sealed with a linseed oil coating to bring out the natural beauty of the steel. This coating, along with the fire scale that naturally forms during forging, will provide some protection from rust. Store your fire poker out of the weather to maintain its beauty and minimize rusting. A hand made steel ring makes hanging the poker a breeze when stored away (out of the rain, of course!)
